Fly the
Iconic f-5 Fighter
One of the most exclusive supersonic-capable fighter jets available to fly outside of military aviation. The same type aircraft that played the MiG-28 in the original Top Gun. Ready for your fighter pilot training now led by combat-experienced fighter pilots out of the beautiful Rocky Mountains of Colorado.
Your Mission.
Start to Finish.
From arrival at our hangar in Broomfield, Colorado, to the end of your fighter pilot-style debrief, every detail is structured around your next-level development as a pilot. Here's how the day unfolds through the fighter-pilot standard flow: plan - brief - execute - debrief
01
Plan
Welcome & Suit Up. Fitting of your flight suit, helmet, and, when available, G-suit. Overview of Hangar 44, the aircraft, the Strike Flyers mission, and presentation of mission patches.
02
Brief
Your instructor walks you through aircraft systems, thorough training and familiarization of ejection seat procedures, G-tolerance expectations and techniques, and a complete walk-through of the day's flight profile and maneuvers.
03
Execute
Walk the line to a supersonic fighter jet with live ejection seats, and strap into the rear seat of the CF-5D. Maximum Afterburner takeoff, high-G maneuvering, tactical formations (2-ship courses), upset prevention and recovery training (UPRT top-off courses) - everything you came for, delivered at the performance envelope of a supersonic fighter.
04
Debrief
Review your flight with your instructor, break down what you learned, and take home cockpit footage. Enjoy drinks and story-telling in The Squadron Bar. You leave a more complete and capable pilot than when you arrived.

F-5 (Canadair CF-5D)
The family of Northrop-designed and built F-5s served the US Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps along with over 30 international air forces. This supersonic, high-G fighter played the MiG-28 in Top Gun (1986). It's been deployed worldwide, from NATO allies to Southeast Asia to the Middle East. It's still in the news today. The trainer variant, the T-38 Talon, still trains US Air Force fighter pilots today.
This particular Canadair CF-5D two-seat trainer variant - built under license in Canada - is one of the rarest variants of the F-5 ever produced. Renowned for its agility, maneuverability, and power, the CF-5D remains one of the most iconic fighter jets in the world.

Ways to experience the f-5
The F-5 is available for advanced pilot training, commercial media production, event flyovers, industry R&D programs, and military training support. Each mission is built on decades of military training and experience.

Advanced Pilot Training
Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT), and high-G tactical combat maneuvering, and military-style formation flying in a supersonic fighter — training that doesn’t exist anywhere else in the civilian world. Designed for rated pilots who want to fly at a level most never reach.

Commercial & Brand Campaigns
Few aircraft photograph like the F-5. Available for media productions that demand something beyond the ordinary — on the ground or in the air.

Event Flyovers
A supersonic fighter jet overhead changes the character of any event. The F-5 is available for flyovers at select sporting events, galas, and private occasions (restrictions apply).

R&D Test Bed Platform
A supersonic, twin-engine fighter platform available for high-speed chase, aerospace research, systems integration testing, and performance evaluation programs. Purpose-built for organizations that need real-world flight data at tactical speeds and altitudes.

Military Training support
Contracted adversary air and dissimilar air combat maneuvering (ACM) training support for military units. The F-5 has served as the primary aggressor platform for the U.S. military for decades — and it still delivers.
Every Pilot. Better. Safer. Prepared.
Strike Flyers was founded by F-15E Strike Eagle pilot Chad "PB" Robbins to bring military-grade training standards to general aviation. The instructors, the aircraft, and the program exist for one reason: to save lives.
Elite Instructors
Every flight is led by instructors with military fighter backgrounds in the US Air Force and US Navy with thousands of hours experience in aircraft like the F-5E, F-14D, F-15E, F-16C, and F-22. The same fighter pilots who trained in these aircraft now teach in them.
Safety as a Standard
FAA LODA-authorized operations, military-adapted safety protocols, and comprehensive attention to the fighter-pilot standard plan-brief-execute-debrief cycle. The same discipline that keeps fighter squadrons safe, applied to every sortie.
ColoradO
Based at Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport (KBJC) on the beautiful Rocky Mountain front range of Colorado. Home to the fleet of Strike Flyers' Decathlon, Extra 330LX, and CF-5D aircraft making it one of the only civilian CF-5D flight programs in the world.
